@JerseySchorr In this case, a 20 oz. bottle of Diet Dr. Pepper played the role of the rubber duck quite well. If it’s predecesor bottles had lived up to the rubber duck’s example they may have been saved from the recycling bin. (But probably not.)

Sometimes when you’ve been looking at code for too long and still can’t figure out how to fix a problem, just asking yourself “what is this code trying to do?” can lead you to a solution that’s been staring you in the face all along.
